GHL CONSULTANTS LTD is a Vancouver based consulting firm specializing in the practice of Fire Engineering and Building Codes. We provide clients with creative fire engineering design solutions to address fire and life safety challenges arising from compliance with the Building Code. We are currently seeking a talented graduate Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to enhance our multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements

The applicant must have a strong background in a related field, such as:

  • fire dynamics
  • fluid mechanics
  • building materials
  • pedestrian flow theory
  • finite element analysis
  • structural design

The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to define, analyze, and solve engineering problems with attention to detail. The applicant is expected to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment involving analytical and research work, technical report and proposal writing, as well as field work at construction sites in BC and across Canada.

The applicant should be able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with architects, engineers, government authorities, developers, and contractors, etc. The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Fire Protection).

The successful candidate will receive extensive training in Building Code and principles of fire engineering and will be involved in developing solutions for fire and life safety in buildings.

GHL offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for advanced training and education. Commensurate with experience, salary range of $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per annum plus benefits and eligibility to participate in profit sharing.
